Navigating the social world is hard, especially when you have learning differences.  Dr. Curtiss uses a schematic approach to navigating social situations.  This approach helps individuals generalize their skills to new environments.  Growth happens because new information is built upon previous information or schemata.  Skills are discretely taught using what the individual already knows and builds upon it.  By learning information in this way, clients are better able to use new skills and adapt to new environments.
